A Chieftain of APC in Kano State, Hon. Aminu Suleiman Goro has revealed why his party is not counting on votes from the South East ahead of the 2023 presidential election. In an interview with TVC Online News, the national lawmaker also said the South East should appreciate the APC for what the PDP failed to do in the zone during its 16 years in power.

However, in the worst case scenario, we could lose five states to another party, but the APC has never won in the South Eastern states. We won’t lose sleep because the South East is not part of our vote tally.

He continued: “APC won in 2019 without a state from the South East. It is their fundamental right to remain in opposition if they so choose. We penetrate to the southeast with several members. We are also making inroads in crucial projects like the 2nd bridge in Niger, which the PDP administration has denied them for over 16 years. No one will follow PDP if our politics is based on values.
