LIMESTONE COUNTY, ALA. (WHNT) – School officials say an arrest was made Thursday at East Limestone High School after a gun was found in a student’s backpack.
Limestone County Schools said a school resource officer immediately confiscated the gun and arrested the student after it was found. The student was then transported to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.
The school system said there were no known threats to any students or faculty and that all safety protocols were followed without a hitch during the school day.
Limestone County Schools said the student code of conduct will be enforced in this case and that safety remains a high priority for the system.
