A San Antonio man shot and killed his girlfriend after she told him she didn’t want their child, police said.
Adam Byrd, 23, was charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of his girlfriend, Jade Alyssa Alvarez, 22, days after robbing a convenience store at gunpoint, according to an arrest affidavit.
Alvarez’s body was found around 6:30 a.m. on April 6 on Capitol Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds, KSAT reported.
A woman who was with Alvarez the night before the shooting told police the victim was dating Byrd.
He spoke to Alvarez on the woman’s phone and asked her to drop him off at Capitol Avenue, where he was found dead hours later, KENS5 reported.
At the time, Byrd had an active warrant for his arrest in Bexar County on two counts of aggravated robbery following a robbery earlier in the month.
