Andor Episodes 1-3 Recap

Andor made its way to Disney+ on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 with its first three episodes.

Set five years before the events of Rogue One and A New Hope, the series follows Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), a common street thief who begins the first episode by searching for answers about his dark past.

Living a life in the shadows, Andor arrives on the rain-soaked planet of Morlani in search of his sister, but his inquisitive questioning of a brothel worker catches the attention of two burly security guards.

Their confrontation turns violent, and Andor kills both to save his own skin, though his actions put him in the crosshairs of local security forces as well as rebel recruiter Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård).

The opening episodes also delve into Cassian’s childhood on the planet Kenari, where he lived under the occupation of the Galactic Republic – before it became the Empire – until he was taken away by his adoptive parents Clem (Gary Beadle) and Maarva Andor (Fiona Shaw).

After an exciting shootout with a squad of security goons, episode three ends with Cassian leaving with Luthen and the next phase of his journey to becoming a hero of the Rebellion begins.
