Auto Expo 2023: Tata Power to roll out 25,000 electric charging stations in India over next five years


Tata Power, a leading provider of electric vehicle charging solutions, on Friday announced that it has launched a nationwide plan to set up 25,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging points across the country to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility over the next five years.

According to a company statement, visitors were treated to a first-hand experience of the technology that powers Tata Power’s extensive electric vehicle charging network, including Tata Power EZ Charge, one of the most downloaded electric charging mobile apps.

The app helps passengers find the nearest charging station, know real-time availability of charging points and get charging status updates, including from Tata Power.

The company also said that information about the Network Operations Center (NOC) has been disclosed. The center helps in efficient management of charging stations across India.

Through its extensive presence in the electric vehicle charging space, the company said it provides more than 3,600 public or semi-public chargers and more than 23,500 residential chargers. Tata Motors said most of these charging stations are equipped with fast charging technology and are located at various strategic locations such as malls, hotels, airports and office complexes.

The NOC is integrated with an online platform that supports Tata Power’s EZ Charge services, has real-time communication links with all on-board chargers and helps identify issues with the technology early. The NOC also supports rapid problem resolution, system support and proactive maintenance planning for the charging infrastructure.

Tata Power also said it is at the forefront of bringing electric vehicle charging solutions to every corner of the country with charging solutions for homes, workplaces, station fleets, public spaces and commercial sites like electric bus charging depots.
