The Racehorse Lotto National Stakes for two-year-olds could be a massive race for the future with Blue Storm, elite status and controversial On Point.

Ten runners offer an open race with betting starting at around 3/1.

All but one runner has won the race, most of them are running for the second time and have a lot of money behind them.

Two blue dot stallions compete: Blue Storm and Dot.

Havana Gray’s elite status can be a threat to both.

This is the favorite for his clear three-length victory despite being 11/2 shots in the second set.

Havana Gray won this race at odds of 5/1 in 2017 and could follow in his sire’s footsteps with Elite Status in his second running.

7.12am: Enemy 11/10

That’s more consistent than his main market rival, Nate the Great, and that’ll give him the win at Sandown.

Richard Kingscote rode the horse in his last four races, but was replaced by Frankie Dettori, who was replaced by former rider Roberto Escobarr.

All went well in the competitive Ormonda Stakes held on soft ground at Chester earlier this month.

Enemy just passed but need to get back to good ground and adjust to 2m distance.

7.42: Desert Crown 4/7

Desert Crown won the 2022 Derby by more than two lengths and has not been seen since

This Derby winner is a major upgrade from Brigadier Gerard Stakes, who reappears for his seasonal debut.

Up against some interesting competitors in the form of Hukum and Cash.

But the Nathaniel colt should be a favorite here at 4/7, although that price could drop even further later in the evening.

Desert Crown beat runner-up Hu Ya Mal at Goodwood before winning over 1m6ft in August.

Third-placed Westover has been better in Group 1 races around the world – winning the Irish Derby by an amazing seven lengths.

Running too loose before finishing fifth at Royal Ascot was a disappointing race.

But the very soft ground behind the Alpinista impressed Longchem in the Arc, all these shapes suggest that the desert crown should be breached.
