Chelsea FC have reached a verbal agreement with Leicester City for the permanent signing of Wesley Fofan. Meanwhile, the French defender’s arrival would see Trevoh Chalobah leave Chelsea.

Trevoh Chalobah was integrated into Chelsea’s squad at the start of last season by Thomas Tuchel and had a good season as he was amazing whenever he played.

However, Tuchel seems not to be a fan of his talent, which was the reason Chelsea are finalizing Fofano’s deal with Leicester City.

Chelsea will pay Leicester City £75m for the centre-back and he will sign a six-year contract confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

However, selling Chalobah could be bad business for the Blues as the Chelsea academy graduate already knows Tuchel and how the manager wants to play. So losing him in this way will be a huge loss for the club.

Moreover, Chalobah’s market value is just €20 million, as Inter Milan, Leipzig and AC Milan are in the running. And it has been revealed that if Fofana moves to Chelsea, Chalobah could leave permanently.

That means Chelsea will be selling Chalobah for a lower fee than they paid to sign Wesley Fofan from Leicester City this summer, which could be bad business.
