Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson introduces Billie Eilish to a roaring crowd at Lollapalooza – NBC Chicago

The first day of Lollapalooza saw dozens of musical acts on multiple stages, including the evening’s headliner that dozens of fans lined up to see at 6 a.m.: Billie Eilish.
Dressed in a black and red Michael Jordan Bulls jersey, Eilish performed to a raucous crowd under a Chicago sky lit up by city lights. But before Eilish took the stage, the entertainer received a standing ovation from Mayor Brandon Johnson.
“Hey everyone, my name is Brandon Johnson and I can’t wait to hear from Billie Eilish. Are you with me?’ Johnson opened.
“We were made for this moment,” Johnson continued. “The city of Chicago brings the world together. We are the soul of Chicago, we are the soul of the world.”
