Drew Barrymore seemed to be off to a rough start in a recent interview with CBS4.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Drew Barrymore interview for CBS4

Drew Barrymore recently sat down with CBS4’s Lisa Petrillo for an interview where she stated that she is incapable of being fake.

Barrymore seemed out of breath early in the interview when she greeted, “Hi Lisa.”

Petrillo then asked her how she was doing, to which a distressed Barrymore replied, “That’s how I am.”

Additionally, the 47-year-old actress said, “I’m not capable of fake and BS. If this is the mood, I’m in or out of mode. I’m in if you’re running with your hair on fire, so be it. I hate people who fake it and say hello! I’m just great!’

In addition, viewers seem to enjoy the authentic reality of the Emmy Award-winning businesswoman and find her interesting.

She went on to tease that The Drew Barrymore Show is all about upbeat television. Its main purpose is to provide informative messages to the audience and to inspire them.

Regardless, Barrymore added, “I want to be a bright spot, not a blind spot. We are in difficult times in the world and I want it to be an antidote without pretending that we are completely unaware of everything that is going on.’

She went on to explain: ‘I love comedy too. It’s my coping mechanism, even when it gets really dark.”

Drew Barrymore talks about Katy Perry

Drew Barrymore also revealed in the interview that Katy Perry’s songs helped her get through difficult times.

She recalled: ‘When I was going through a divorce and moving from LA to New York and changing careers, a lot piled up. Me and my girls sang “Roar” and that was our song to feel like we weren’t lost or displaced. So to thank Katy Perry for that was such a gift.”

Still, host Lisa Petrillo then asked if she had any secret methods to cope with pressure and stress.

The mother-of-two replied: ‘I’m not interested in selling that I’m in control. His messy life is messy, so I try to do my best, but it doesn’t always look or feel perfect, that’s for sure.”

You can watch The Drew Barrymore Show on weekday mornings. It premieres at 9:30 on CBS4, following CBS 4 News at 9:00.
