Liverpool are looking to make it 3 consecutive wins in the league and just held Everton to a goalless draw in the first half.

Everton had the first chance of the game when Liverpool lost possession in their own half. Everton were quick to play forward balls and found Maupay whose shot was just wide. But Liverpool responded and it was Alexander Arnold who whipped in a sublime delivery for Darwin Nunez to head over the bar.

Despite Liverpool’s dominance, Everton created the best chance of the first half when Maupay’s spot-kick fell to Davies, whose effort smashed off the post in the 32nd minute. Darwin Nunez missed a huge chance before the break to leave the Merseyside derby goalless at half-time.

Liverpool played poorly in this game and it was due to Klopp’s pre-match lineup.

Firstly, Darwin Nunez is struggling to get going for Liverpool as he missed a big chance to bury just before half-time and Klopp went off to leave his best striker Roberto Firmino on the bench. Firmino should have started this game ahead of Nunez.

Second, Andy Robertson should have started this game ahead of Kostas Tsimikas. Tsimikas has been ineffective at left-back and Robertson would offer Liverpool more attacking play down the left side of the pitch.

The second half is in a few minutes and it remains to be seen if Liverpool will somehow win this game.
