Robson Green has answered the prayers of Grantchester fans after he was spotted in an exclusive behind-the-scenes picture.

The hit British crime drama is set to return for another gruesome season on ITV in the UK and Masterpiece PBS for the US.

It seems they couldn’t wait to get started as DI Geordie Keating (Green) and Tom Brittney (Rev Will Davenport) are back together.

Another Grantchester case returns for Season 8 – including Charlotte Ritchie as Bonnie and Tessa Peake-Jones as Mrs C. There’s also Al Weaver playing Leonard Finch and Oliver Dimsdale as Daniel Marlowe. Fans will see Kacey Ainsworth as Cathy Keating and Nick Brimble as Jack Chapman.

And not only that, special guest stars include Jeff Rawle, Jemima Rooper and Shaun Dingwall, writes TV Insider.

But Reverend Will is ready to see his world come crashing down – what will it mean for his faith?

The trailer reads, “He’s always preached the word of a compassionate God—but how can he now that his desperation is sending him on a dangerous downward spiral?”

How can Will move on from the accident that rocked his world after securing his happiness?

‘Murder is always around the corner’

We can’t forget the plot of the show, but it looks like Geordie will see some of those life cracks too.

The synopsis adds: “As Mrs C, Leonard, Jack and Daniel gather, both Will and Geordie find themselves in uncharted, emotional waters, and murder is always around the corner.”

However, Will and Geordie will be tested “to the limit” as they “explore faith, forgiveness and redemption”.

Then there are the “invisible women” trailers and the problems they cause for Leonardo’s new profession.
