Half Moon Bay shooting suspect charged with 7 murders
The San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that the man accused of killing seven people in a shooting at a farm and nursery in Half Moon Bay that caused fear and sent shockwaves and grief through this rural coastal community faces multiple charges.
The suspected shooter, identified by authorities as Chunli Zhao, was arrested and booked into jail Monday after the attacks near a sheriff’s substation in Half Moon Bay.
Zhao, 66, is charged with seven counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, one count each of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of multiple murder. Atty. Steve Waggaff.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon at the Redwood City Hall of Justice, Wagstaff said.
