HPD: 15-year-old boy killed in drug-related robbery


HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A man has been charged with capital murder, after police say a 15-year-old died in a drug-fueled robbery.
The Huntsville Police Department (HPC) announced that 25-year-old Deiondre Gilmore has been charged with capital murder in connection with an incident that occurred on Sunday, March 12th.
HPD was called to a car shooting near Wharton Road and Kenwood Drive around 9:00 p.m.
HPD Major Crimes Unit investigators determined the shooting occurred in the area of Colfax and Deerfield Roads. Police say Gilmore fired shots into the car during the robbery.
A 15-year-old passenger in the car died from injuries sustained in the shooting.
Gilmore was taken to the Madison County Jail.
