Most supermarkets and other services will be closed on Monday 19 September for the Queen’s funeral, but is Co-Op Food open?

Is Co-Op Food open or closed?

Co-Op Foods will be closed until 5pm as a mark of respect. The outlet confirmed the same on its official website.

The dining hall noted that in 2013 Her Majesty The Queen and HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh opened their support center at 1 Angel Square.

The statement read: “We join the royal family, our colleagues, customers, members and those around the world who will reflect on her historic reign.

Other stores that will be closed

The Co-Op isn’t the only store to close tomorrow. Below are lists of stores that will not work.

On the other hand, Tesco Express will be open at 5am and Asda will close all stores by 5pm.

What time does Queen’s funeral start?

According to The Guardian, the service will be held at 11am. The Queen’s coffin will then be taken in a foot procession from the Abbey to Wellington Arch. She will then be taken to Windsor Castle for her final resting place in St George’s Chapel.

Several world leaders and European kings are expected to attend the ceremony. Many cathedrals also hold events to mark their respect.

Crowds from different parts of the UK will also be able to watch the event with several large screens set up in different areas. Some of these include Hull City Hall, Bradford Cathedral, Manchester’s Exchange Square, Millennium Square in Leeds, Lincoln Cathedral, Ripon Cathedral and more.
