Johnny Depp may attend the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards

A source close to the show’s production recently revealed that Johnny Depp is set to make a surprise appearance at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

In addition, the source also said that Depp is in talks to have the Moonman mascot at the event.

Simply put, the 59-year-old star may be donning a suit for the silver astronaut statue that winners are awarded at the VMAs.

According to a source, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor is ‘really excited’ about his performance at the awards. Additionally, Depp is ‘ready for his comeback’.

Although Depp is not nominated for any awards, he has collected five Moonmen statues during his career. In 2012, he won Best Actor, Best Villain, Global Superstar and Generation Award.

News of Depp’s possible appearance comes months after he won a controversial defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard. It will also mark his first on-camera appearance since winning.

A jury in Virginia found Heard guilty of defaming Depp, as she wrote in 2018, alleging domestic and sexual violence. The 36-year-old actress is to pay him 15 million dollars.

Additionally, Depp will don the director’s hat for the upcoming biopic based on the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani.
