“Nance” Biden didn’t know he had classified documents

House Intelligence Committee Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT) on CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday called claims that President Joe Biden didn’t know he had classified documents “nonsense.”

A partial transcript follows:

BRENNAN: You serve on the Intelligence Committee, which asked the Director of National Intelligence for more information on the Biden dossier. But you said last week when you were on CNN that you really doubt there’s a national security threat here. Do you think this is an overreaction to the story?

STEWART: No, I don’t know. I mean, I think when President Trump had that experience, some media outlets and others said he had nuclear codes, nuclear secrets. I said I thought it highly unlikely. I think the same thing will happen here.

BRENNAN: Here it is.

STEWART: Probably not this type of information. But if I can bring this up quickly, the chances are that he doesn’t know about it, not only was I on the Intelligence Committee, but I was an Army pilot who flew the B-1. I have dealt with secret documents in my life. You should know that each of these documents has a readable cover page. It shows what the classification is and why it is classified. Each page has a classification symbol. It’s not something that you just sit down at a desk and think, Oh, I forgot they were classified. Their classification is very clear. And for those who think so, the president didn’t realize they existed. This is nonsense. Of course he knew they were there. They are so obvious.
