USC’s official website states that a “visiting student” can join and take “one-on-one courses for professional or personal development without enrolling in a degree program.”

In addition, a visiting student is essentially a “non-award student”. “They pay tuition up front and receive normal tuition, assessments and formal results”.

To put it simply, the Good For U artist is currently taking a few classes to expand her music production horizons at USC instead of pursuing a full-time degree.
