One was arrested in Decatur as part of a drug investigation


DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – A 42-year-old Decatur man was arrested after authorities say he was in possession of an undisclosed amount of drugs.

Tomaris Cortez Brown was arrested Jan. 4 after Decatur Police Department (DPD) investigators confronted him in the 900 block of West Moulton Street.

Authorities said there were “multiple active felony warrants” for Brown’s arrest.

During the investigation, DPD found a “distributable amount” of fentanyl, as well as an undetermined amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Brown was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Decatur man was taken to the Morgan County Jail, where he is being held on a $6,300 bond.
