Respect for my father remains the same, says AK Antony’s son Anil Antony after joining BJP.
Anil K Antony, son of veteran Congress leader AK Antony, joined the BJP on Thursday in the presence of Union ministers Piyush Goyal and V Muraledharan.
Antony, who headed the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee’s digital media cell, criticized the Congress leadership for working for “one family” instead of working for the country.
He quit the Congress after criticizing the party’s stance on a controversial BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Welcoming Antony to the BJP, Goyal described him as a “very grounded political worker”, confident that the BJP would take care of the country and share the Prime Minister’s vision of sustainable growth.
“It’s not about individuals, it’s about differences of opinions and ideas. I’m sure I made the right move. My respect for my father remains the same,” Anthony said when asked if he had consulted his father before joining the BJP.
