Israel retaliated with artillery and rockets into southern Lebanon
An air raid alert was sounded in northern Israel on Thursday afternoon amid reports of rocket fire from Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that at least one projectile was intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome system.
Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service said at least one person was lightly injured in the blast, and a woman was injured while running to a bomb shelter. No immediate damage was reported.
Shortly after the rocket attacks, the Israeli army bombarded southern Lebanon with artillery, two Lebanese security sources told Reuters. They confirmed that at least two rocket attacks against Israel were launched from this country.
