SEVENTEENVernon responds to comparisons to BTS

Vernon recently visited an American radio station with Seungkwan and DK. They sat down for an interview with Sirius XM hosted by Tony Simon.

During a radio interview, the K-Pop stars talked about the bond between the members SEVENTEEN. They also discussed the group’s relationship with their fans, who are also known as Carats.

Also, since it was an English show, Vernon, who is Korean-American, took the lead and answered most of the questions. However, DK and Seungkwan also frequently answered several questions.

However, during the interview, Vernon had to deal with a particularly tricky question when the band’s progress was compared to BTS.

Simon asked the trio: ‘When you started the band, there was no way you were expecting to be up there like BTS. That you would be on the same level as BTS.”

Vernon, on the other hand, diplomatically answered the question in a dignified manner.

He replied, ‘When we debuted, BTS wasn’t even BTS today. So it’s really crazy what we’re doing right now and where we’re at right now.”

If you didn’t know SEVENTEEN debuted in 2015. BTS had already debuted two years earlier, but faced huge problems at the time.

Fans SEVENTEEN and BTS react to Vernon’s response

Many fans SEVENTEEN and BTS raged over the comparison between the two Korean bands. They expressed their opinion on social networks.

One fan said: ‘These questions are really nerve wracking but I did well that Vernon answered the questions calmly and showed his mature side.’

The second fan mentioned:SEVENTEENthe goal is to be the best SEVENTEEN they may be.’

A third spoke up and said, “I am ARMY and Carat. I regret this interview. Why would he compare himself to another group? Just respect each other.”

Meanwhile, few fans shared their displeasure with Vernon’s response. They claimed the Fake Love singers were breaking records in 2015.

A fan wrote, “When we debuted, bts weren’t the same bts as they are today.” This group debuted in 2015 and bts already outsold the big 3 groups during that year, so what exactly is he saying? he spoke only to speak.’

SEVENTEENFans were quick to defend their idols, saying Vernon was referring to the group’s successful trajectory.
