After a narrow win against Leicester City last weekend, where Raheem Sterling scored his first league goal for Chelsea, Tuchel’s side will host Southampton as the two sides clash in five English Premier League games in midweek.

Here are the things you need to know ahead of the English Premier League match between Southampton and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.

Match Preview;

Chelsea have scored in each of their last 17 English Premier League away games against Southampton, winning 6-0 in that exact fixture last season. It is the longest point streak by one team against another away from home in the history of the English top flight.

Southampton’s 44 home goals conceded against Chelsea is the most they have conceded against a single team in the English Premier League, while only Tottenham Hotspur (51) have the Blues scored more on the pitch. The Blues will host Southampton at St Mary’s and will be hoping for another possible win in their fifth league game.

Predicted Chelsea lineup;

With the return of Kalidou Koulibaly to the team after serving a ban, Thomas Tuchel could use a 4-2-3-1 formation for the first time this season. After a 2-1 win against Leicester City last time out, Chelsea could record another win and continue their impressive run.

Injured and unavailable Players;

Marcos Alonso, N’golo Kante and Conor Gallagher, who were sent off against Leicester City last weekend, will not be available for Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea due to injury and suspension. On the other hand, only one Southampton player will be unavailable for tomorrow’s game against Chelsea.

Time and place of excavation;

The match between Southampton and Chelsea will be played at St Mary’s Stadium on the 30th of August and will kick off at 19:45 Nigerian time sharp.
