Adamawa State chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibrahim Bilal, has resigned from the party and joined the Peoples Democratic Party after being accused of financial malfeasance and gross violation of the constitution, Sahara Reporters has learnt.

Adamawa is the home state of Aisha, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Earlier today, it was reported that the Adamawa State Executive Committee of the APC has suspended Bilal for alleged anti-party activities.

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has congratulated Kenyan President-elect Mr. William Ruto for emerging as the winner of Kenya’s August 9, 2022 presidential election, urging him to lead an inclusive government and strive to unite Kenyans.

The former Nigerian president, who made the remarks in a goodwill message to Mr Ruto shortly after the Kenyan Supreme Court upheld his victory on Monday, also accused him of being magnanimous in winning and using the prevailing atmosphere of peace to stabilize Kenya and set the country on the path of sustainable economic growth.

Chief Ebenezer Babatope, a former Minister of Transport, on Monday said the 2023 presidential election would still be a two-party affair between the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to the former minister, the Labor Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, may try their best during the elections but they cannot win because they lack the structure and national outreach to secure victory.

He said: “It will still be a two-party affair. It will still be between APC and PDP. The Labor Party can only try but cannot do anything. Unlike the APC and the PDP, the Labor Party does not cover the entire country.

DCP Abba Kyari denies owning 14 assets, shopping malls, properties and others.

Suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari on Monday denied charges by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) that linked him to the ownership of 14 assets, including a shopping mall, residential complex, polo field, land and agricultural land.

Kyari, a former Commander, Intelligence Response Team, has reacted to recent reports orchestrated by the NDLEA in an attempt to further tarnish his image.

In a statement issued on Monday, Kyari’s lawyer, Hamza Dan Tani, said the agency resorted to cheap blackmail because “the NDLEA case in court against Abba Kyari and 4 others is not going well for them”.
