Twitter will soon get an ad-free subscription

One of the first things Elon Musk did after taking the reins of Twitter was to revamp the badge system and introduce the $8 per month Twitter Blue subscription (well, $11 per month on iOS and Android due to App Store fees). However, the current version of Blue only cuts the ads in half. Musk tweeted that there will be a more expensive subscription that will not show any ads.

How much does it cost? It’s not clear yet, but the CEO isn’t happy with how the ads are currently working. He says they are “too frequent” and “too big”. Twitter will address both issues in the coming weeks.

There are other plans to improve the Twitter experience. For example, Musk says that most users currently miss out on “amazing tweets” from people in other countries. The language barrier is overcome translate and present top tweets from other regions (meaning translated into English, Musk didn’t elaborate).

Other upcoming improvements include remembering whether you’ve selected the “For You” tab or the “Forward” tab, and making it easier to bookmark tweets.
