Who did Scott Eastwood play in Chicago Fire and why did he leave?

One Chicago is finally back, and its shows have been a fixture on our TV schedules for so long that it’s incredibly nostalgic to remember where it all began.

Who did Scott Eastwood play in Chicago Fire?

Scott guest-starred as Jim Barnes alongside Tania Raymonde as Nicole Sermons and the pair appeared in episodes 22 and 23 titled Leaders Lead and Let Her Go.

The pair essentially teamed up with the city’s police intelligence unit, and Looper reports that their appearance at the end of the season was meant to serve as a backdoor pilot for the upcoming Chicago PD spinoff.

As PD fans will know, Scott never featured in the spin-off, which began airing in 2014, and neither did Tania.

To fill Scott’s spot, Outsider reports that the show instead cast Jesse Lee Soffer as Detective Jay Halstead, and the rest is history.

Why did Scott Eastwood leave Chicago PD?

At the time of the announcement in 2013, TVLine reported that both Scott and Tania had decided not to star in Chicago PD for “creative reasons”.

Of course, after deciding to leave the One Chicago franchise that summer, he became more known for his rich film roles than his television work.

Since the appearance was brief and his character was never properly introduced, Scott’s stint plays nicely as a small, overlooked cameo.

Still, it’s interesting to imagine what could be.
