Shekarau announced his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a speech on Monday, adding that if there is a lack of justice and fairness wherever he goes, he will leave.

He publicly declared that he was no longer a senatorial candidate for the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and that he and all his supporters had defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“We don’t want to hold any office or position.” We defend our honor, dignity and freedom.

“As a group, our political ideology is motivated by our commitment to fairness and justice for all.” “If there is no justice and fairness, my supporters and I will follow wherever we go. I informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of my intention to withdraw my candidacy for the NNPP senate and have since completed the necessary procedures.

“We explained why by creating a Shura committee of 30 people. “They sat down and decided what we were going to announce today,” he said.
