During an interview with the BBC on Wednesday, Hausa Ayu, who was elected in October 2021, said he was duly elected by PDP members based on the party’s constitution. Ayu insisted that he was elected as the National Chairman of the PDP for a four-year term. He added that he would not complete the year yet.

It would be recalled that Ayu, a former Senate President, was elected unopposed at the party’s national convention held in October 2021.

“I haven’t committed any crime, I know I’m doing my job and I haven’t stolen any money, so I see no reason for all this talk. When we formed the PDP, these children were not here. They are children who do not know why we founded the party. We will not allow any individual to destabilize our party,” he said.
