Delhi Capitals are undoubtedly an “incredibly strong” team in terms of skill, but what will add to their performance in the inaugural Women’s Premier League is the camaraderie between the players, Jess Jonassen and Radha Yadav believe.

The Capitals continued their impressive run with a 42-run win over the UP Warriors at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday.

All-rounder Jonasen first scored an unbeaten run of 20 off 42 deliveries to help DC post 211/4 off 20 balls. The Aussies then collected figures of 3/43 as the Warriorz were restricted to 169/5.

Speaking about his man of the match performance, Jonasen said: “I was very nervous before I went to bat. It’s been a while since I’ve been hanging out. Playing with Jemima (Rodriguez) was great. He is very enthusiastic and encouraging.

“I struggled a bit and the strategic timeout came at the right time. Then I remembered what I had to do at that gate.” The Australian also said that the players in the Delhi Capitals camp played well.

“When we played our first game against RCB, I felt like I had played with everyone before. We have great international experience. Our team is incredibly strong and everyone is well integrated. Lots of laughs and some It’s great to be a part of this set up and learn from different people. Deepti Sharma said, “I thought the batting was easy for me. I don’t know what it looks like from the outside. We support each other and get along well as a team. The players understand each other very well and we are enjoying this tournament.” Delhi Capitals will face Mumbai Indians in their next game at Navi Mumbai on Thursday.

Speaking about this, Yadav said, “We have great skills as a team and we have to keep it simple. We have to make sure we do the little things right and convert half chances.”
