Zoë Kravitz is speaking out about her comments regarding Will Smith’s Oscar slap

Zoë Kravitz recently sat down with WSJ magazine to discuss posts she shared on her Instagram referencing Will Smith’s infamous slap.

For the uninitiated, Smith faced massive backlash for slapping host Chris Rock during the live Oscars telecast.

Smith reportedly responded after Rock made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head.

Regardless, The Batman actress told the publication: ‘It’s a scary time to have an opinion or say the wrong thing or make controversial art or statements or thoughts or whatever.’

She added: “It’s mostly scary because art is about conversation. That should always be the point in my opinion. The Internet is the opposite of conversation. The internet is people who put things off and don’t accept anything.’

Additionally, Kravitz continued, “I was reminded that I am an artist. Being an artist doesn’t mean everyone loves you or thinks you’re hot. It’s about expressing something that hopefully sparks a conversation or inspires people or makes them feel seen.”

She went on to say, “I think I’m at a place right now where I don’t want to express myself through a caption or a tweet. I want to express myself through art.”

What did Zoë Kravitz write?

Zoë Kravitz shared some pictures on her Instagram after Will Smith’s controversial action.

In one of the images, Kravitz appears to be posing on the red carpet.

However, she outlined the post with a caption that read: “Apparently attacking people on stage now.”

Shortly after, Kravitz uploaded another photo of herself at the star-studded event.

She therefore wrote a similar message this time as well.

Kravitz said, “Now we’re apparently yelling profanities and attacking people.”

Meanwhile, the Man In Black actor also recently came forward to apologize to the Academy and Chris Rock.

According to the source, the 53-year-old star is also in a good place. He spends time with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith and their children.

However, Smith is banned from Academy events for 10 years. He previously stepped down from the awards following his outburst in Rock.
